OUR STORY
Uflourish Church was due to be launched in April of 2020. However, COVID 19 erupted 2 weeks prior to the launch date, so a decision was made to put a pause on the physical launch and Dr. Kurt decided to move his launch team over to Zoom services. On that very first Sunday, Dr. Kurt saw his launch team dwindle from 36 people down to 12. Though very disheartening at the time, he continued to push forward. Interestingly, the Zoom community began to grow over the next 1.5 years and amazingly, deep, intimate, multi-ethnic relationships began to develop. Pastor Ronaldo joined the team in February of 2021 while Zoom church was still growing. Fast forward to April of 2021, Uflourish Church acquired its current building. With the help of great partnerships from churches in and around Milwaukee, renovations began and Uflourish opened its doors to the public on September 26,2021.
MEET OUR PASTORS

Dr. Kurt Owens
Lead Pastor
Dr. Kurt Owens is a Milwaukee native, pastor's kid, and community leader whose life reflects powerful transformation. Once involved in gangs and drug dealing, a near-death experience led him to Christ and a lifelong mission to serve the urban community. He planted his first church in 2005 and later led the planting of a multi-ethnic campus for Epikos Church in 2016. Dr. Owens holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Concordia University, a Master’s in Christian Ministry from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. He and his wife Dee-Dee have five adult children and twelve grandchildren.
Joe Hanson
Worship Pastor
Joe grew up in northwest Wisconsin and came to faith in Christ in 2009 through his childhood friends. He then went to UW-Madison, obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering while steadily involved in a campus ministry. There Joe met Devin and, upon graduating, the two were married and launched together into 7 years of full-time college ministry. The desire to steward their own multicultural realities brought them to Milwaukee in 2017, where they've grown their family with three lively daughters. They sensed a call to leave college ministry in 2021 in order to grow deeper roots in their community, so Joe worked as an engineer for a few years until the opportunity arose to work in worship here at their very own church. Joe and Devin love laughing together, sitting in Milwaukee's cafes, and on his own Joe maintains passions for soccer and nature trails.

Zac Reuter
Executive Pastor
Zac grew up in a Christian home here in Milwaukee, but didn’t accept Christ until he got involved with Cru as a freshman at UW-Whitewater. While there, he served in a couple of leadership roles and went on two missions trips to South Carolina and Ghana. While in Ghana, he felt the Lord call him to pursue further ministry education, but had some school debt to pay off first. So, after graduating from UW-Whitewater with degrees in Entrepreneurship and Geography, he worked in the utility industry before pursuing his masters at Dallas Theological Seminary. In 2021, he graduated with his Masters in Christian Leadership and came back to Milwaukee to work with Bridge Builders and Uflourish Church as Executive Pastor. He married Briana in 2019, and they have two young daughters. Zac loves sports, hiking, woodworking, and spending time exploring the state with his family.

William earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Masters of Science degree in Human Services Administration from Springfield College.
